FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What areas do you serve?
Trashnappers provides residential trash collection throughout East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. Trashnappers services Sullivan County, Hawkins County, and Greene County, TN and Scott County, VA. We cannot service Washington County, TN due to local regulations. Not sure if Trashnappers covers your area? Check out our Service Area page or give us a call.
How much does it cost?
Our pricing is simple, $35 per month for the first can, and $20 per month for each additional can. Choose a monthly, 3-month, or annual plan — our 3-month and annual packages offer a discount for customers who plan to stick with us, and annual subscribers get their 12th month free. Check out our pricing page for more details.
What day is my pickup?
You will be notified of your pickup day when you receive your can. If you are unsure of your scheduled day, please reach out and we’ll confirm it for you.
Do you provide the trash can?
Yes. We provide our branded 96-gallon cans to all of our customers.
When will I get my trash can?
You should expect to receive your can the next business day after signup.
Do I need to bag my trash?
We recommend bagging all trash before placing it in the can. This keeps things cleaner for everyone and helps make sure nothing gets left behind.
How much can fit inside the can?
Our cans are 96 gallon cans. They can hold around 6-7 full bags of trash. It is important that you make sure the lid can close. Trash cannot be stacked on top of the can lid or piled high above the rim. An additional can will be necessary if this is the case.
Can I get additional trash cans?
Yes. If one can isn't enough, we can add more cans to your service at any time.
My can is damaged, what do I do?
If your can has damage to the wheels or lid, no problem. This is a routine maintenance item. Give us a call and we will fix it for you at no cost. If the can itself has been damaged or destroyed, we need to know immediately so that we can issue a replacement without disrupting your pickup schedule.
Where should I place my can on pickup day?
Please place your can at the curb or end of your driveway by the morning of your scheduled pickup day. We are a curbside service only, so the can needs to be accessible from the road. The can should have approximately 3 feet of clearance on either side.
I live outside city limits. Can I still get service?
Absolutely. If you're outside city limits and tired of hauling your own trash to the convenience center, we're a great option. Check out our Service Area page or give us a call.
Do you service long or rural driveways?
We are a curbside pickup service only, so we ask that your can be placed at the end of your driveway near the road.
Is there a contract? Can I cancel anytime?
No contracts. You can cancel anytime with no penalties or cancellation fees. We believe in earning your business every week, not locking you in.
What payment methods do you accept?
We use Stripe for processing, so credit card, debit card, and ACH/bank transfer are all accepted. You can manage your account and pay your bill online at any time.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. The price we quote you is the price you pay. No fuel surcharges, no environmental fees, no surprise charges on your bill.
How does the referral program work?
Every Trashnappers customer gets a personal referral link inside their account login. Each successful referral takes $5 off the customer's next package renewal. There are no caps and no expiration on referral discounts — the more people you refer, the more you save. A referral counts as successful once the referred person signs up and pays for a service package.
What happens if my pickup day falls on a holiday?
If your regular pickup day lands on a holiday, we'll reschedule your pickup to the next business day. We'll communicate any schedule changes ahead of time so you're never left guessing.
Do you pick up during bad weather?
Safety comes first. If snow, ice, or severe weather makes roads unsafe, we may delay service. We'll notify you via text and social media with updates so you know exactly when to expect us.
What if my trash was missed?
If we miss your pickup, call us as early as possible and we'll come back the same day. Mistakes happen, and we make them right quickly.
What items can’t go in the trash can?
Trashnappers picks up regular household trash only. We cannot accept hazardous materials such as paint, chemicals, oil, batteries, or tires. Appliances, furniture, and yard waste are also not included in regular service. For disposal of those items, your local convenience center or transfer station can help. Tennessee residents can also use the TDEC Household Hazardous Waste program for chemicals and other hazardous items.
Do you offer bulk pickup, yard waste, or recycling?
Currently, we only offer regular household trash pickup. We do not offer bulk item removal, yard waste collection, or recycling pickup.
What makes Trashnappers different from the big trash companies?
Trashnappers is locally owned and operated right here in East Tennessee. Piled up trash isn't just frustrating; it makes the whole community look bad. Trashnappers is part of that community and wants to do our part to help keep it clean. We keep things simple: reliable weekly service, fair pricing, no contracts, and no hassle.
